Is there such thing as too much?
As we grow up and develop, we start to pick out our most hated flaws. For a lot of people, dealing with pimples and spots can be a hassle. Having acne at any age sometimes has a very big emotional impact on girls and guys. So, we as a generation have found the easiest way to get rid of these flaws, we just add makeup! But is this always the best solution?
Foundation is a cover-up, and that is exactly what we aim to do with it. Cover up all the nasty pimples and spots and blemishes. But the route to majority of all of this is due to oily skin. Your skin has pores (think of them like little holes all over your face that lets your skin breathe). If skin pores get blocked, they create pimples, this is your body letting you know you have a clogged pore. If you have a lot of pimples, the worst thing that you can do is put on more makeup, as that will just clog even more pores. Foundation is very oily and not very good for your skin. This being said, you can use foundation in moderation.
So what can I do to make my skin look better without using makeup?
1. Salt water loves your skin. It’s a natural exfoliant! If the weather is nice, go to the beach! Go swimming in the sea and make sure you get your head wet. You can also use the sand on the beach on your legs. I know this sounds weird, but this will actually get rid of your dead skin cells, making your legs lovely and smooth.
2. Not wearing any makeup for a least a week. Give you face a cleanse! Your skin needs to breathe, so that it can look healthy and make you look fresh. The best time to do this is if you are going away to somewhere tropical.
3. Doing a face wash every night for 2 weeks. If you’re getting ready for a party or event in a couple weeks, I highly recommend doing a face wash in advance. I recommend "Neutrogena’s 3 Step Regime". I’ve been using it for a while now and I am never let down. You can buy at your local Woolworth’s.
